Question:
Has anyone had a problem keeping food down?
I ate one egg this morning, and 15 minutes later got sick. It seems that what I am throwing up is slim, not food though. It that common. Although my doc progressed me to stage 3 more solids, I like sticking to more liquid, so I do not throw up. Surgery 6/18/01 down 20lbs. — Cheryl C. (posted on July 1, 2001)

Eggs were never an easy one for me. You might want to try 1 oz of cotage
cheese or some mashed up baked potato, again about an oz. Bite, put down
the fork, wait. See how it feels. Bite, put down the fork, wait. Savor each
bite in your mouth, roll it around & process it. Wait 2 hours, do it
again. Any improvement?

DEAR CHERYL,
I COMPLETLY SYMPATHIZE WITH YOU. I HAD MY SURGERY DONE 5/11/01. AND I
EXPIERENCE THE SAME THING. EGGS WERE NOT MY BEST FRIEND THEY TEND TO HIT
LIKE A DUMP TRUCK. I HAD A TINY PIECE OF PLAIN LUNCH MEAT YESTERDAY AND WAS
SICK FOR THREE TO FOUR HOURS. AS FAR AS THE SLIMEY FROTHY VOMIT I
EXPIERENCE THE SAME THING NO FUN. I HAVE FOUND IF YOU REALLY TAKE YOUR
TIME AND CHEW UNTILL THERE IS NO MORE TO CHEW THINGS WILL GENERALLY GO DOWN
A LITTLE EASIER. I'M STICKING WITH MAINLY THE SOFTER TYPES OF FOOD STILL
SOLIDS JUST SEEM TO BE ALOT TO DIGEST. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CRACKERS/CHEX
MIX THEY SEEM TO BE PRETTY GOOD, YOU STILL CAN'T EAT THAT MUCH. KEEP UP THE
GOOD WORK. IT'S ONLY BEEN SEVEN WEEKS AND I'M DOWN 44 POUNDS!!!!
TAKE CARE,
LAURIE
