Question:
Is 7 months post op too soon to have a breast reduction?
I have lost 116 pounds so far with 54 more to go. My bra size has gone from a tight 48G to a loose 44G. My shoulders and back are killing me from the weight. I have been talking to my primary care doctor about a breast reduction but is it too soon? Should I wait until I am all done loosing weight? I'm afraid if I loose too much up there the insurance company won't cover the surgery! — Helen C. (posted on May 10, 2001)

Talk w/ a plastic surgeon or the specialist who performs this in your
area.. get a consult and they can best advise you for sure. Your lower
weight shouldn't exclude you from this surgery.. what helps it be medically
necessary is the back pain, the skin irritations infections etc that occur
w/ large and or vertically challenged breasts.
