Question:
How much protien should I eat in a day?
Hi, I was womdering how much protien I am to be eating in a day? Also, is there a little book or anything that I can buy that has how much protien is in foods? Is there a list of foods you would reccomend that has alot of protien in it.I have been eating scrambled eggs and cottage cheese. I know tuna is a good source of protien. I drink my protien shakes and take my vitamins, and I use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner, but I am scared of my hair falling out. I am 2 weeks post op, and have lost 17 pounds so far! Any help will be greatly appriciated. Thank you very much! — Valerie D. (posted on March 31, 2001)

Reccommended daily protein consumption varies with each surgeon. Somewhere
between 60-90 grams a day is what I have seen. www.dietwatch.com is a good
site for nutritional values. I recommend The Protein Power Lifeplan by
bariatric physicians Michael & Mary Eades. Best wishes.

I was told 60-70 grams of protein each day. I use a book that I got at
Waldenbook "The Protein Counter" by Natow and Heslin. It lists
calories, carbs, fat and protein. Hope this helps. Donna WV
