Question:
Can tissue from the tummy be relocated to the breast?
I just had my surgery in October of '99 and I am begining to think about having a tummy tuck and breast "job" done. I want to keep my body as natural as possible. I want to know if the tissue from the tummy can be relocated to the breast? I have heard of lipo-suction relocating tissue. If you have any information to offer, please e-mail me at: [email protected]. Thank you. — Kathie S. (posted on February 4, 2000)

I have seen and heard of this being done. I watched a surgery of this type
on TLC (the learning channel) they have weekly surgeries and they show what
and how they do them. The one I watched was this older woman had lost
weight (though they never mentioned how she did) anyway, they were doing a
tummy tuck, and then they took all that extra skin and tissue they removed
from her tummy area and placed it in her breast area... I looked like she
would be quite bruised but the implants were definitly al-natural; they did
say that they would stay "up" and perky for about 10 years... but
would naturally loose grip with that wonderful gravitational pull we all
seem to get... :-) the lady seemed very pleased with the results. I
watched this surgery quite some time ago, but I am sure if you contacted
TLC channel they may have the video for sale or tell you where you may be
able to rent or buy it... it was quite interesting... best of luck! :-)

Wouldn't that be nice? It CAN be done, where the muscle is removed or
relocated along with excess skin and muscle...but is only used for breast
reconstruction. It is a big operation and would never be appropriate in
any other setting. I do relocate existing breast tissue that is too low to
the upper portion of the breast, to "perk things up" if
needed....but thats about as far as things will move !
