Question:
Could vocational rehabilitation pay for my gastric bypass ?
Hi, I am in Florida, I have an excisting disability ... major depression. I am in the voc rehab program and have been for a year. They paid for me to have a little training to be a dog groomer.. It's been a year since training and I do not have a job. I am 350+ lbs and it's very hard for me I am not sure I can do it without surgery. If you have been there write to me. — BIGGAL (posted on November 19, 2004)

Do you have Title 19. It's a gov't program and they paid for my brother's
rny 21/2 years ago. ask voc rehab about it. he worked with them too.

My surgery is being paid for by Texas Rehabilitation Commission. I had to
go through a bunch of papperwork and redtape. You never know it can be
possible for Vocational services to pay for your surgery as well just call
and make an appointment with them and ask what types of procedures do they
cover for morbid obesity. Some vocational services have certain guidelines
you must follow before they attempt to pay for certain services. Also you
can call and find out if you have an Advocey program this is a program who
helps people with disabilities recieve the right help. I used them and they
are wonderful matter of fact they helped speed up the process with TRC.
