Question:
Has anyone gotten a tummy tuck approved by Aetna?

I had an abdominoplasty paid for by Aetna. They did not cover the muscles; nor did I pay extra to have it done. The TT came out perfect. I was originally approved by BCBS but was not able to get surgery before leaving that job. I submitted to Aetna my approval letter from BCBS along with my new plastic surgeon (new town). And it was approved. I did have to go to level two to get the inital approval thru BCBS for medical necessity. My approval with Aetna may have been 'easier' since it would have been hard for them to deny when another already deemed it medically necessary.
