Question:
I'm wondering if I'm eating too much.
I'm almost 2 1/2 years post op LAP RNY. The example of my lunch today is a small chili from wendys with a couple of saltine crackers and four of their chicken nuggets. I did not drink anything during or before this meal. Yes I'm full, but wondering if this is too much food? Please advise. As far as weight I'm pretty much at goal, and will definitly be there the day that I can gather up enough money to have all of the excess skin removed. Thanks for all of your help! — Kristina P. Hi I believe you are doing fine and that is not too much! I am now only 7
mths post op, and I can eat much more now too! Like, for instance today I
ate 2 small slices of pizza, so I think you are doing fine. Some days I can
eat more than others too it just depends on my body I guess on that
particular day, but they said you are going to go thru that. I think I can
eat too much some days also, but so far they said don't worry so I try not
too! I just try to eat good things ost of the time but sometimes like the
pizza, I do alittle sometimes. It os really weird how your body chooses to
d on diff days. but I think you'll be fine. Good luck to You!

I'm 15 months out -- that sounds right to me (I'm sure I could eat that
much now, though it would take a full 30 minutes to do it ... but I do eat
that way at various meals). Have you ever thought of looking at it in
terms of the total calories you intake during the day, including protein
and carb grams? Sometimes I can eat more or less at a particular meal, or
on a particular day, but I generally know if it's within the calorie limit
where I don't gain weight. Takes some pressure off of watching every
single meal so closely, to think of it in terms of daily intake.

I don't think that you ate too much but fast food in general is crap! I can
eat more of crappy stuff than anything else. If you are at goal and
maintaining doing what you are doing than don't worry about the amount.
Nutritionally in the long run, because our nutrition is so vital post op
you might want to try some healthier choices.

I'm ten months out and I've lost a lot of weight and I'm about four pounds
from goal. I eat a lot less than that. I'm starting to wonder if there is
something wrong with me. If I go over even a little bit, it will come back
up. I throw up a lot. There are days that I can eat more than others.
Today I had about 2 oz. of chili soup from Atlanta Bread Company, I imagine
it's about two oz. because I didn't even get a quarter way through the cup.
It was stuck and it kept on coming up. After about an hour and a half I
went to the bathroom and mad myself throw up everything. I finally felt
better. I'm just writing in to see if other people also have this problem
at ten months out.
At 2 1/2 years out and you can eat that and you are at goal, thats awesome!
Congratulations!

I think you are doing ok. Personally, I would have had more chili and
skipped the chicken - but that's a personal choice. I don't do well with
chicken post-op, especiall fried. I have eaten Wendy's Chili since I was
three weeks post-op (with my surgeon's blessing).

I'm 19 mo out and could have eaten the chili and crackers and perhaps a
nugget or two, so I think your alright amount wise. I think that as long
as you are pretty much at goal and are 2 1/2 years post and able to
maintain, continue with what you are doing-it must be right! Hope I can
say the same when I reach 2 1/2 years.
