Question:
Calories in Palmolive Green Apple-anyone know?
I'm 15 days post-op, living on mushroom soup, mushed potatoes (no butter), sugar free ice pops and crushed multivitamins...the Palmolive Green Apple actually smells REALLY GOOD---anyone have any OTHER ideas? Much thanks! ps: Am on pureed "foods" for 4 more weeks, per doctor instructions. — teresaxxxx (posted on August 12, 2003)

Isn't Palmolive dish soap??? I suspect we're not supposed to drink dish
soap, even if it's sugar free, low fat, and zero calorie!

ROFLMAO!!! Too funny! Ask your doc if you're allowed to have fat free
refried beans at your stage. I don't know if I'd have made it this far
without them! They're REAL FOOD. LOL I added some cheddar and some fat
free sour cream for flavor. Also yogurt and cottage cheese should be ok at
this stage. Best of luck!!! It gets better quickly at your stage!! :)

I fell in love with cream of chicken soup made with non fat milk, split pea
soup, lentil soup, and cream of wheat or oatmeal for breakfast. Have you
tried baby or strained fruits and apple sauce--I thought the sugar free
ones were wonderful. I also drank a bottle of baby juice (diluted with
water if needed) daily. Mainly it was for variety, but the prune juice
helped the constipation problem. I hate yogurt, cottage cheese, and refried
beans so I lived on my protein shakes, sugar free jello, and hard boiled
egg whites--which I now no longer enjoy. You will be surprised how quickly
this stage passes. How soon can you add baby shrimp? They were a life
saver for me. I must admit, I haven't broadened my menu much more at 4
months, but I don't yet feel deprived.

at your stage I was eating (but ask your doctor if you're not sure!)
unsweetened applesauce, Wendy's chili with melted cheese and no chopped
onion - VERY soft and mushy, sugar-free pudding, cottage cheese and other
soft mushy foods. I got really sick of ice pops quick and made a treat I
just loved, but depends on if you dump on milk or not. I took 1 can of
root beer and mixed it with 6 ounces of fat-free milk (stir gently) then
poured it into ice cube trays. When it was froze I'd mix it in a blender
for a mock Root Beer Float. Very yummmy! Also did this with sugar-free
orange pop and milk. Good luck and umm I'd avoid using that soap for a
while hehe.

Put that bottle down before you take the first swig!(LOL) Really cute
description of the misery of the liquid and pureed phase. First, nothing
wrong with the seasoned "mushed" potatoes, or adding butter
spray. Second, a lifesaver for me at that time was instant split pea soup -
add hot water and wait a few - little fat, high protein, a little high in
sodium, but very good compared to other stuff. Also, tomato juice with
worstershire sauce. Don't be temped with the "green apple" stuff
- I got the protein powder and hated it and it's all going to waste now.
Maybe just order sample sizes. I also enjoyed sugar-free jello, and koolaid
I made myself with Splenda, which has a really natural sugar taste and
doesn't stimulate my appetite like other sweeteners did. I feel for you - I
was there a few weeks ago! Best to you!

When I got to this point early on I started just pureeing
"regular" food....that way, I was getting the food and flavors I
was used to already (good thing I didn't prefer soap du'jour!) and, I
really did not worry about calories or fats since I could only eat a couple
bites. This part of your journey will soon be a distant memory....best of
luck to you!
