Question:
Seeking A Surgeon In Central Florida Who Will Do A Body Lift
I went for a consult with a plastic surgeon who told me there was no such thing as a "body" lift. He proposed doing a tt and breast reduction first, then doing the thighs only, which he said would do nothing for the butt!!! My insurance denied this, saying cosmetic surgery is excluded in my contract. I have been working on a appeal and came across body lifts, so now that I know this is what I need, I will need to find a new surgeon who does this, and also mostlikely will need to do an appeal for that one too, since I'm sure that one will be denied as well. So my questions are this, do I not do an appeal with the plastic surgeon that did my consult and wait to find a doc who does what I actually need or do this appeal first? Also does anyone know of a good plastic surgeon in central Florida who does this? and any help with anyone with bc/bs health options getting it approved ?? thanks for any help, Lori Miranda — Lori M. Hi Lori! I'm one of Dr. Jawad's posties too! (isn't he great!)..I had a
breast reduction 7 weeks ago, and I went with Dr. Scott Loessin. He works
out of Halifax Memorial in Daytona Beach, however because of insurance
issues, I had my surgery at Florida Hospital - Ormond Beach. I only had
the reduction, but in looking at his pictures, I did see that he does do
what I'd call a "body lift" where the TT incision goes all the
way around, lifting the hips and butt area. I am very very very happy with
the results of my surgery (did I mention I was happy!!?!!), he did an
excellent job. The incisions/scars are very fine and look great. If you
have any questions, you can email me..Denise 316/153

I just had a body lift done on May 14, 03 in Gainesville with Dr. Bruce
Mast. He didn't call it a body lift, but instead at TT with a belt
lipectomy or something similar sounding. I didn't have to spend the night
in the hospital either. He did a full TT with muscle and lifted my outer
thighs and butt. I am very satisfied with the job. He did a belt cut all
the way around my body and then a cut from my breast bone down because I
had a really ugly scar from my Open RNY last year. My belly button is now
small and shapely again and I feel great. I will be 6 weeks on Wednesday.
I highly recommend Dr. Mast. His wife was the anestelogist and she was
awsome too. I came out of anestesia feeling very well and not super groggy
all day as normal. I was not in too much pain either. I had some mild
burning on my left back hip area, but that was the worst of it. I was able
to move very well and I took my pain meds every 4 hours for the first 3
days. The drains were the worst part of the entire surgery and I delt with
them just fine too.
Dr. Mast charges $100.00 for the consult but that is subtracted from the
surgery cost. My sugery was just at $5000.00 which is about 20% less than
in Orlando.
His number is 352-372-9414. I will be happy to answer any more questions
you may have.

I have the surgeon for you!!! I had my tummy tuck about four months ago
with Dr. Scott Greenberg in Winter Park, FL. He is awesome! The staff is
awesome! His wife actually works there too and is super sweet. I'm not sure
about him filing the insurance (mine didn't get paid for by United). But,
at least call and get a consult with him. Mention my name when you call -
Michelle Turner. He also has a website with directions...its
www.scottgreenbergmd.com
He's a great surgeon and I'm really happy with my tummy tuck and I know he
does do body lifts. Just not sure about the insurance thing. :)
hugs!
michelle
ps..let me know what happens. Also, if you live in the central florida
area, I started a support group a year ago and it's great! If you'd like to
come, email me direct :)
