Question:
how long off work for combination surgery?
Hi! I'm going to have my tummy tuck and arms done at the same time next month. I know for the tummy tuck my friend was told to take at least a month off. Does anybody know how long I'll be off work to have both procedures done? — candymom64 (posted on June 16, 2003)

This is going to range depending on your pain tolerance and your doctor. I
was off work for 7 days and I worked from home the following week, then I
was back to work. Everybody is different. Personally, I wish I would have
taken 3 solid weeks off. I think my healing time would have been better.

I had an extended TT, brachioplasty and breastlift done on March 31, '03. I
took 2 weeks off and went back to work 1/2 days the first week. Fulltime
after that. (Also depends on how long your PS leaves in the drains. Mine
doesn't leave them in more than 2 weeks.) BUT, I also didn't need alot of
muscle tightening in the stomach. If you have had kids or not good muscle
tone, you can expect alot more pain. I thought this was pretty easy
compared to WLS but a friend of mine who had it a week later said it was
more painful. She had ALOT of muscle tightening done.
