Question:
RNY at Bayrlor, do they do it lap? Distal or proximal? Transection?

I wanted to know if Dr. McCarty and the other surgeons at Baylor do a distal Lap RNY or proximal lap rny? Also, do these doctors transect or not? Any information you can provide would be appreciated!    — LLStroud (posted on May 8, 2003)

You could easily call and ask - the staff is usually helpful with these kind of questions.

Yes, they ONLY do lap now and they will do it distal if bmi is over 50 and proximal if lower than 50. However, you can request either one. The Baylor docs are great and have a great follow-up program!
