Question:
Does anyone eat food that they added protein supplement to?????

Does anyone put whey protein in any of the foods they eat? If so, could you share with us? Also, does anyone add protein supplements to dishes that they cook and dont consume all at one sitting? Does the protein break down, turn funny tasting, etc.? I am looking for ways to incorporate my complete whey protein into my diet besides drinking as a shake. Thanks for any ideas!    — Reenie K. Protein will begin to break down about 30 minutes after being mixed. So never save left overs for later. You can add protein powder to recipes. I have done things like add half a pouch of vanilla Real Meals to oatmeal. You can add protein powder to recipes that are heated as long as you do not bring it to a boiling point, it will not begin to breakdown until you hit the boiling point. For a great list of recipes for smoothies and frosties for protein shakes copy and paste this link http://www.protein-solution.com/RealMeals_Recipes.htm

Hi Reenie I'm not yet a post op. Actually I got my approval this week! and hopefully will be post op in the next month. Back to my point..lol..my nutritionist suggested taking your protein and putting it in a salt shaker and sprinkling in right on top of your foods. That stuck with me and sounded like a great idea for adding protein to your meals. That is one of my biggest what ifs....not getting in enough protein. I don't want my hair to fall out. But good luck and I look forward to reading other ideas.

You can bake with soy or egg protein, only whey is sensitive to temperature. Also Atkins makes a baking mix that is protein as well as Carbolite products.

Procel is pretty close to textureless & flavorless. It is whey, 0g sugar or anything else. I would never keep whey "wet" for more than 30-45 minutes, personally. I use the Procel every now & then, but I LOVE my shakes, so any I remember to put in food is just bonus.
