Question:
When did most people get their tummy tucks?
Just wondering, how soon after the G.B. can one have a tummy tuck, I would love to hear from anyone who would like to share their stories. Thanks in advance. — rosalyn P. (posted on December 26, 2002)

The surgeon who did my RNY would probably like me to wait a few more months
until my weight has stabilized, but I am scheduled for my TT and lower body
lift on 01/24/03. That will be exactly three weeks before my one year
anniversary. I started at 314 and have lost 151 lbs. My plastic surgeon
estimates that he will be taking off approximately 12 pounds. I may
continue to lose, but can't imagine I will drop more than 10-15 pounds
after the plastic surgery. My PS doesn't feel that would have an adverse
effect on the results. I honestly can't deal with this hanging skin and
fat much longer.

I haven't had a TT yet, but from what I have heard, others on this site,
and in support groups, the going advice is to be within 20 pounds of goal
and at least a year out of the initial WLS. My surgeon would like us to be
18 months out as it gives the body a chance to stabilize and get used to
the weight loss.
