Cherice, I agree with the previous poster. Yesterday I had my 6-week checkup and on the way home (it's a 2-hour drive) I got hungry. We went to Burger King. I got a Whopper Jr. plain and ate the whole thing with just 1/4 of the bun. I broke the bottom bun in half and threw the half and the top bun away. It was good! Well before we got home about an hour or so later I had another one because I got a hungry feeling. The nutritionist had just told me I wasn't eating enough so I figured I would increase my protein. Everything went down fine. Sooooo if you can get it down without becoming overfull go for it!

Cherie, I had surgery the day after you. I eat cheeseburgers ALMOST 3-4x/wk....I usually eat 1 1/4lb cheesebueger, NO BREAD, and a tomato slice. Why not, 210 calories, 31g of protein (thats w/o the cheese)....I can eat the whole thing in one sitting. You are fine!

Cherice, keep in mind that the surgeons make the pouches different sizes. Someone with a 1 oz pouch probably would not be able to eat more than 1/4 to a 1/2 of a burger. Bigger pouches can eat more. Just make sure to eat very slowly and give your tummy time to signal the brain that its full.

I also panicked the first time I ate a burger and most of it went down. But I had been working outside, not eating enough, and I was HUNGRY. But the next time I ate I was right back at the amounts I had been eating. The further out I get the more I notice that the amount I can eat depends on several factors including the type of food, what I have been doing, how long it has been since I ate, and my hormonal state. If I eat more than normal, I figure my body needs it. If I am not as hungry, I eat less. Just listen to your body!
