Question:
How did you take pain meds after plastic surgery?
I was just wondering, for those of you who've had plastic surgery after your wls, what kind of pain meds did you go home with, and if it was pill form, how did you take them, did you have to crush them or what? Thanks. — Jennifer M. (posted on September 24, 2002)

Just ask the surgeon to write a script ``for pain meds in a liquid form.
You will probably want to get this filled at the hospital, since your local
drug store might have to order it and you won't want to a wait a day or 2
for them to get.

The five of us in our family who have had lap RNY surgery were taking
Percocet tablets for pain the day after surgery. Our surgeon does not
require that patients crush medications or take them in liquid form, and we
had no problems at all. Following my plastic surgery (panniculectomy and
brachioplasty), I again was discharged on Percocet tablets with good
results. Best wishes!

I took Liquid Roxicet. I love it. My TT and BR was 07/18/02 and I even
had them give it to me in the hospital. It doesnt taste to bad and it
doesnt make my stomach as upset as percocet does.
GOOD LUCK

My doctor gave me Cipro (to fight off any infection), Valium (to relax me)
and Vicodin (for the pain). All were in pill format and I didn't have any
problems taking them. Then again, I've never had any problems swallowing
pills.
