Question:
Should I break large calcium pills up?

I've been taking calcium pills and skin,hair, and nails vitamins for the last 6 or so months. My surgery is coming up and the more I think about the vitamins, the more scared I get about taking them. Do they have the same effect if you cut them up? Or should I look for liquid/chewable vitamins?? Thanks a lot.    — Heather H. (posted on September 15, 2002)

Twinlabs makes chewable calcium citrate (and that is what you need - calcium citrate) tablets that are available at GNC (and probably other natural food/health food stores). JR (open RNY 07/17 -74 lbs)

My calcium citrate is capsules. They swallow easily, but they also open & dumpp. I've tasted them in sugar free Tang and my protein drink. Or should I say I have NOT tasted them in there!
