Not really, unless you have a mechanical failure. As long as your surgery
is intact, you will always need to be healthy and keep your body well
nourished & hydrated. It also helps keep YOU in the driver's seat, as
far as making wise food choices. If you're hungry or short in nutrition,
you won't make good food choices. IF you starve your body of what it needs,
it will try to compensate for the shortage, in essence partially undoing
your surgery. You can absorb a little more nutrition, but it will cost you
in pounds, too. It's easier (really) to stay completely nourished, watered
and stay more in control of your wt. & enjoy your new good health!

You will always have to watch your protein and liquid intake, but I have
found that it is so natural for me that I don't really "think"
about it anymore. I make sure I get a lot of protein, then veggies and
fruits. Bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, crackers and other starchy carbs
make up a very tiny part of my food regimen.
