Question:
Can we eat deer meat post op rny and is it fattening?
Just wondered if anyone has tried eating deer meat post op. I am 5 months post op rny down 93 lbs and I like deer meat. I actually have the deer jerky and sausage and burgers. Does anyone know how much fat , calories , protein, carbs are in deer meat? Thanks for your help. — jamie C. (posted on September 5, 2002)

I use fitday.com to log in my food intake everyday and they do have venison
listed on there. It is very simple to use and I love it because I can
track my calories, carbs and protein. You can also track your weight loss
progress and log in your activity for the day and it will tell you how many
calories you burned. I am really obsessed with it. I do it every day.

Venison is low on fat since deer are not grain fed. Another good meat
choice is buffalo. Buffalo steaks, burgers and jerky are all very good and
low in fat.
