hiya
depends on how far post op you are...by 6 months out, yes however please be
careful because pre op we used food (most of us) as a way to deal with
things and unfortunately alcohol can become a substitute...if you have
never had a drinking prob and can limit yourself to one glass of wine every
few weeks it shouldn't be a problem. you will also "catch a buzz"
really fast so be careful of that!
good luck,

I am 12 weeks post-op (open rny) and at about 8 weeks started drinking some
wine. I usually wind up adding ice to it because I drink so little and it
takes so long that white wine gets warm! About a half a glass gives me the
same buzz as two to three used to. Moderation!

that although alot of us do drink we really should'nt ,dont forget there is

something to think about?

From my understanding you can get ulcers in your new pouch from drinking.
Maybe have a small amount on very special occasions like an anniversary.

I drank one glass of wine several days a week for about a month around 3
months post op. I stopped because I was getting a very strange ummmmmm
burp, I guess you could call it that. Anyhow, It went away but I have
developed an ulcer. I have no idea if it is related or not. I would just
be careful. You dont NEED the wine.....I would just avoid it....just my
opinion.
