Hey guys, I just got denied by Anthem BC/BS for Reconstructive
Surgery. TT/Arm Lift/Thigh Lift... Can someone provide me with a sample letter that is sent after denial.. My email address is not the same as the one posted in my profile. I'm not surprised you were denied for the thigh lift or arm lift. Unless
you have lots of skin infections, there really isn't a medical reason for
the insurance company to pay for it. As far as the tummy tuck, you should
be able to get that paid for. Maybe your doctor sent in for a little too
much work in his pre-athorization letter. I would have them re-do the
letter and just ask for approval for one procedure at a time and give
numerous reasons why this needs to be performed (I would go for the tummy
tuck first since this should be approved). Be sure to have him include
pictures and you should submit a letter telling of any problems you've
encountered living with this large stomach and excess skin. It will only
help your cause. As far as the other surgeries, unless you've got
documented skin infections (and plenty of them), count on paying for this
surgery yourself.
