Question:
3 Bites of food at a time

I am 5 1/2 months post-op RNY and have lost 110 pounds. Has anyone else out there been 5 months and still only eating three bites at a sitting?    — Laura S. (posted on July 14, 2002)

I wish! I'm almost a year post-op now, but at 5 months I was already eating 5-8 oz. (depending on what the food was). You may have just had a smaller pouch to begin with, or perhaps some scar tissue preventing rapid stretching. Be thankful for now; but keep tabs with your doc. Seems like after a year you should be up to the 6-8 oz. range. I can eat far more than I wish I could!
