Are you able to drink any of the sugar free products available? Jello,
water ice(Rita's), heck even regular water ice in the store you won't be
eating that much of it at one time. What about the chicken broth? Are you
able to keep any of them down? Popsicles worked great for me when I
couldn't bear to drink any more. I still got to have a little change in my
diet with them. Hope this helps... GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES!!! MARY

I laughed when I read your post. I was the exact same immediately post-op.
Don't worry ... your hunger will return around months 4-6. For now, just
eat what you can and enjoy the quick weight loss. It will be over soon
enough! LOL

That sounds about right for one week post. You won't eat much and if you
have found a protein drink you can tolerate you are probably ahead of the
game. One comment, tho: If you had RNY, Tums will not give you any calcium.
The calcium carbonate is not absorbed because the acidic part of your
stomach/intestine is bypassed. You should be taking calcium citrate which
does not need high acid levels to be absorbed. Calcium citrate is available
in chewable "sweet-tart" like wafers that you can use until you
are up to swallowing a capsule. TwinLabs is the brand I used. Don't worry
about the rest--introducing food slowly is best for your recovering body.
Take it easy and happy losing!

hello. I am 2 1/2 weeks post-op. My surgeon and RN said that for the first
couple weeks as long as I was getting in my fluids, protein and vitamins, I
really didn't need to eat. They are the experts I thought, so i wasn't
worried. i had some broth and eggs and cheese occassionally but not much
else. Now I have more of an appetite, but the first week i was in such
pain i didn't want to eat, so you are doing great, just drink your water
and try to get in some protein as much as you can! You are doing great!
goodluck to you!! You're not hurting yourself.
