Question:
How do you function normally after this?
Hey there, I was just wondering if after you have plastic surgery on your inner thighs.....how do you sit down or walk when @ home trying to heal? Or after you have skin removal of your under arms....how do you function normally then?? Thanks a bunch! — Jennifer M. (posted on January 4, 2002)

I don't have any experience with thighlift surgery, but I am 6 weeks
post-op following a tummy tuck and armlift (brachioplasty). I was also
nervous about the discomfort and possible limited use of my arms post-op,
but I found this surgery to be surprisingly "comfortable"
compared to others that I have had. My plastic surgeon encouraged me to
use my arms normally...reaching, stretching, etc...that that would keep the
incision line from "tightening up". I also found that the entire
incision line was very numb at the beginning, and almost entirely
pain-free, so movement and normal range-of-motion wasn't a problem at all.
The sensation is gradually returning, but the surgeon warned that I might
always have some degree of numbness in that area.....certainly not a bad
trade-off for getting rid of some fairly monstrous bat-wings! :-) Good
luck!

Hi Jennifer,In response to your question. When I had my inner thighs done I
was cut at the inner thigh front to back(I couldn't wear underwear for
about a month)Mens boxers work. The cut was front to back and down to the
knees. My doctor didn't do my knees and now I have large fat deposits on
the insides of both knees. I hate it !! So be sure to mention removal of
excess at the knees. My doc. said because of the tightness and bending the
leg he doesn't do the knee, but I think I would rather deal with that than
the way my knees look. I'm thinking liposuction is probably my only hope
for them now.
