Question:
Can someone help me please find out total protein?
Hi guys, well I was just wondering if someone could help me. I would like to be able to know " how much protein is in what - depending on ounces ." If someone knows of a really good site to get this information, or if there is someone willing to email me, so I could talk to them personally, I would greatly appreciate it, more than you know. Thanks:) — Jennifer M. (posted on December 12, 2001)

A really fun and free site that allows you to track diet is www.fitday.com
. You enter the food and it breaks it down into nutritional facts. You can
also enter custom foods and their nutritional facts (I made custom foods
for my vitamin and protein supplements, for instance). It will generate
reports with a breakdown of where all your calories are coming from in
terms of protein, fat, or carbs and it can generate many other kinds of
reports. It is fun and easy to use and has helped me to identify dangerous
trends before they become habits. You just need to enter amount eaten in
decimal form to change quantities to our smaller portions. Try it!

I agree with Rita. I use it myself and found it to be an
"Awesome" help. You can customize food for items that arent
exactly as they appear in their database listing to fit the product you are
actually consuming. You will key in the package, can, bottle..etc's
nutriental information and it will calculate for you the results. You can
also track your physical activities and see how much calories you are
burning weekly, track you water intake, keep a personal journal and also
see where your total daily calories are coming from, ie how much from
Proteins/Carb/Fats.

go to:
http://teaching.ucdavis.edu/nut10/handouts/content.pdf
and you will get an Adobe Acrobat page to print out that lists high protein
foods with serving sizes. It is one page and very helpful. I put it on my
refridgerator for easy reference.
