Question:
How soon after surgery should we start drinking protein shakes?

What does your surgeon say? You should be following the food plan he gives you. Most people are on clear liquids (no protein shakes) for some period of time after surgery. You should ask your surgeon about this.

Im going to classes my surgeon sends us to PRE op They said when we leave the hospital we will be on Sugar Free Instant Carnation and to drink it ASAP. They of course stressed how SLOW we had to drink it and to be careful. I hope some post ops can help you more, Jacki
