I really just need to find out how to get p.surgery...

Ive read that insurance wont pay for plastic surgery unless its needed...like if you get rashes... I dont. Is there a doctor in the DFW, TX area that will help me get insurance to pay?    — krobinson (posted on March 19, 2003)

You don't have to get rashes to need reconstructive surgery. Many insurances will pay for it if your panni is very heavy and pulls on your lordotic curve (small of your back) and causes pain. If you are getting lower back spasms or pain make sure your doctor is aware of this - get a scrip for muscle relaxers or something (helps with documentation - and no I'm not suggesting you fake this!). If your hanging skin causes difficulty with urinating, mobility, gets frequent boils/white heads that get infected, or any host of other reasons you may find insurance will pay for it. Heck some will pay for it based simply on it's appearance, weight and recommendation of the surgeon. Good luck!
