My Husband told one of customers that I was having abdominal surgery...a
woman thing...They didn't ask anything else..He said woman thing..and
people automatically consider that personal.

I would really encourage him not to lie or mislead his employer. You can
leave it at abdominal surgery, or stomach surgery, and that should be more
than enough information! If they're really pushy, he can tell them you
need to have a partial removal to correct a long-standing problem! - Kate

I feel if you're not comfortable having your husband's boss know what type
of surgery you're having, then you shouldn't have to tell him. I told
people I was having "women's surgery" and not one person asked
for further details. Anyway, technically it's not a lie. You're a woman and
you're having surgery. I feel if someone is comfortable telling people
about their WLS then they should go for it, but if not, then don't tell
because you are not obligated to tell anyone the personal details of your
life. I'm sure your husband's boss doesn't tell you everything there is to
know about his private life. It's a very personal decision and what's right
for others may not be right for you. Go with your instincts and what feels
right for you - and best of luck on your upcoming surgery.

You should have him be straight with his boss, you're having a medically
necissary surgery. If they ask have your doctor or surgeon send them a
letter. There "should be" no shame in having this procedure,
like any other procedure it is a lifesaving procedure that insurance
wouldn't cover unless it was medically necissary and that should be enough
for them. Good luck with surgery =)

My husband was straight with his boss, and he was very supportive. It is
nothing to be embarrassed about!
