Question:
7 weeks and down 60 lbs down, is that good??

I started at 400 lbs and I am 7 weeks out and down 60 lbs. Is that a good weight loss? For some reason I was expecting more. My husband says he can not tell that I have lost weight, but I can.    — shalandar (posted on June 15, 2004)

That is an awesome loss! I did really well but I think I hit the 60lb loss around 3 months, which I was told was right on track. So, I'd say you are ahead of schedule. Also in regard to your hubby not noticing, I think I lost a lot, like 75, before you could really tell. It took me forever to move down in sizes too, I was soo confused as to how I lost that much but went down one size. Keep up the great job, best of luck!

That is an awesome weight loss! How many people do you know that loss almost 10 pounds a week for almost 2 months! You are doing great and don't let anyone make you feel otherwise, even if they aren't trying to be mean. The larger you are the more weight loss it takes to be nticeable. And since your husband sees you every day it is harder than someone who hasn't seen you in 7 weeks, I'd bet they would notice. BUT the MOST important thing is do you feel better? That's all the matters.

It's fantastic. I think it can never be fast enough for most of us. it took em 3 months to lose 50, and so look at you, not even 2 months and down 60. Way to go!

Congratulations on your excellent weight loss. You are losing at a very fast rate. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry that your husband would tell you that he can't tell that you've lost weight. It doesn't sound like he's very supportive. You've lost 60 pounds - there HAS to be a difference. I hope that you don't take comments like that to heart. Feel proud of every pound lost and feel good about yourself. Don't let others discourage you. Best of luck in your journey and keep up the great work! Hugs, ~Kristy (lap RNY 9/18/03 - 332/201/168)

No offense, but 60 pounds in 7 weeks, what do you think? Just a word of advice, and this is the hard part, stop depending on others for your own sense of accomplishment. I did it myself and guess what? The bad ones are the only ones you remember. What does a 60 pound loss in less than 2 months feel like to you? You KNOW if feels good, don't fish for compliments because when they don't come, like from your husband, you will be crushed. Work on your self-esteem and you will succeed inside and out. Sorry to be so harsh.

I was over 400lbs when I had my surgery. It took 100lbs before the loss was noticeable to people I saw every day. Just keep taking good care of yourself. This is not about your husband. This is all about you.

I think that's great. I'm almost 3 months and am 3 pounds shy of 50 lbs. YA HOO!!! I personally do not think you are 'fishing for compliments' by asking about others results/opinions. I too, like to know that I am 'on schedule' (so to speak) when compared to others. I know, as I'm sure you do too, that everyone is different but there is no harm in asking... that's why you posted your question to the QUESTION AND ANSWER BOARD!!! **I hate to see negative comments posted in response to innocent questions, the negativity can be done without, we've rec'd enough of that from others on the outside ~ Why should we have to get it from a forum that was designed for us, by us?!?!?** Anyway, you keep up the good work and continue to post your questions... I have found this site to be very helpful over the last couple of years. Michelle 280/233/125

60lbs in 7 weeks is awesome!! Keep up the good work. i know what you mean about not being able to tell. I am finally in smaller clothes after 100lbs lost. I am down to a 2Xl, size 22 from a 3-4-5xl or a 30. You are doing great.
