With a BMI of 63.4, perhaps you should ask your doctor about the Duodenal
Switch---mine really recommends it for the larger patient. You can
research it yourself at http://www.duodenalswitch.com and

Opinions differ but generally I have heard that less than 100 cm is
proximal and more than that is distal. However, some Dr's use 120 for the
pivot point. There are 30.48 cm's in one foot. Hope that helps.

My BMI was 66 and I had a long Roux limb, 150cm, which is 5 feet. I have
lost 140# in 9 months, then no loss for 4 months, go for the 6 ft. It is
NOT distal, nor proximal, but medial. It doesn't really matter what they
call it, just so it works for you. I wouldn't hesitate, knowing what I
know now. Good luck.
