Question:
Specific Diet Question?

OK, I am a little over 3 weeks out of Lap Rny. I am on pureed foods although I have tried other things. I went back on pureed because I was having a little pain in my stomach. Supposedly I have a 15-30 cc pouch. If I take a can of Cream of Potato soup I can eat a lot of it over a period of an hour. I guess it runs through. Is this right or am I doing something wrong? Also, I have a medicine cup that they gave me. It mesures up to 30cc. They told me if it won't fit in the cup it won't fit in the pouch. I can eat 1/2 of a scrambled egg which flows out of the cup and feel fine. ADVICE PLEASE!!!! Thanks all!    — Kelly P. (posted on July 17, 2003)

Soupy stuff will indeed flow thru. If you made the egg soft-scrambled and chewed adequately, it will probably go thru, too. Also, no matter what you eat, the pouch will begin to empty within 20 minutes. That's why many drs recommend that your meal last no more than 20 minutes as this helps prevent overeating.

One meduim egg equals 1 oz. 30cc equals one ounce. Learned that in nursing school.
