Lowerys season salt is good in cottage cheese gives it a little differant
taste. Also mix some tuna or chicken in with it.

I used ground steak seasoning on mine. Yummy! Never was much of a fruit
and cottage cheese person.

I LOOOOOOVE cottage cheese with mandarin oranges. They are packed in a
light syrup so drain them well and be careful with the quantity. I also
love cottage cheese with lemon or lime juice and splenda. It tastes a
little like key lime pie. Or blend the cottage cheese with a few ounces of
pineapple juice and a little coconut extract (I found this a little salty
so I am going to try ricotta or low sodium cottage cheese next time). You
can drink that like a protein drink but it doesn't whip up like the mixes
and get all that air in it.

I love the diced Italian-style (stewed) tomatoes with cottage cheese.

If you feeling like something crunchy and yummy...My favorite treat is a
mixture I make of Trader Joe's Roasted Salted Soy Nuts, mixed with the
Unsalted Cranberry trail mix. I add this trail mix to cottage cheese,
yogurt or just have it plain as a snack. It's very yummy and chocked full
of protien. Enjoy! Aims

I like it with salsa on it. Adds some zest. Also, when the rest of the
family is having spaghetti, I put spaghetti sauce on the cottage cheese.
Kind of tastes like lasagna. Sometimes I mix a scoop of protein powder into
cottage cheese and add some vanilla and cinnamon. Cottage cheese is a
staple in my diet!

Brown some ground turkey meat with season salt, put cottage cheese on top,
and finish it off with a tomato. Fantastic. I do also enjoy cottage
cheese with canteloup or fresh pineapple.

OK don't freak out but I think this is really good. I add tuna and some
chopped onion, salt and pepper to my cottege cheese. I love it. Try it, but
most people when they see I have that act like I am eating limburger cheese
or something. I wish you the best.

I have been adding Smuckers Light Sugar Free Strawberry or Red Raspberry
preserves to my cottage cheese. I also have it with sugar free jello. Since
having surgery I guess my taste buds have changed because I hated cottage
cheese before surgery. Now I eat it at least 3 times a day.

I put the Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Powder mix in it (again... the
mix... not actual dressing). I can't do plain cottage cheese. One packet
of mix to a 24 oz cottage cheese container. I've also put black bean salsa
in it, and tomatoes on different occassions.
Just today for lunch I had my fave... cottage cheese, avocado, and tomato.
I chop up a tomato and an avocado and mix it in with the cottage cheese.
Season with salt and pepper and it's soooo good. Thanks for asking this
because I too was looking for new ways to eat cottage cheese!

As you can see, the better question is what CAN'T I add to cottage cheese
since almost ANYTHING can be added to perk it up. Personally, I love
adding either pineapple and pecans, or shredded carrots and pineapple, or
oranges, or chopped tomato and minced onion, or salsa, or tuna, or minced
canned salmon, or warm baked beans, or granola, or fresh chopped parsley
and cucumbers to my cottage cheese.

I blend it smooth... with a stick blender or the regular blender.. and add
a little fat free mayo and then either onion dip mix, italian dressing mix,
or hidden valley ranch.. plus some real onions and garlic... sometimes even
some plain protein pwder... eat it as a veggie dip... its a great protein
snack that doesn't seem like it to me...

Most of my suggestions have already been posted so instead of going over
them again i will instead offer this word of advice... You are still pretty
knewly post op now i dont know what your docs diet plan is but at 4 weeks
out i was not allowed to eat alot of the stuff that is mentioned below...so
my advice is this stick to your docs plan when you add stuff like fruits,
veggies, meats, and nuts...your new tummy may not yet be ready for them.
Good luck and welcome to the other side :D

My in-laws have always blended it in a food processor with seasoniing salt
and green olives. I know it sounds bizarre and really salty, but I crave it
now and it satisfies my savory urges ;) I also second the green onion and
garlic.... and I am dying to try the avacado with it tonight!

OK forgot two of them: Cottage cheese and Special K: YUM! Also a
dessert/salad that my mother made (it does have some sugar so indulge
carefully):
1 can mandarin oranges drained
small can of
juice-packed pineapple tidbits drained
small container cottage
cheese
small container cool whip (reg or free or
light)
small box of sugar-free orange jello
Mix it up and
let it sit in the fridge at least an hour for the flavors to blend. You can
use a large container of cottage cheese and cut down on the cool whip
without hurting the flavor too much. I have even sprinkled protein powder
on individual servings just before eating. Enjoy!

I was allowed to start fresh fruits and veggies at 6 weeks. I added diced
cucumber, tomato, onion, and bell pepper to my cottage cheese then
sprinkled it with salt and black pepper. That was the way I ate it before
surgery and I still prefer it that way. Using the different colored
peppers changes the taste. Ask your doctor before trying fresh veggies
though.

Just one thing to add: I am 5 weeks post op and eat cottage cheese for
breakfast every morning. (I crush my calcium citrate pills up and mix it
in, that way I get that out of the way). I can only eat about 3 or 4
tablespoons of cottage cheese, but one day I was having a hard boiled egg
and couldn't finish it, so I mashed up the rests and mixed it in with the
cottage cheese. It tasted just like egg salad (if you like egg salad); I
couldn't even tell there was cottage cheese in the mix.
