Question:
Sugar free candy/chocolate or recipes??

Has anyone found any sugar free candy that tastes good and doesn't make them sick? Or have any recipes for the same? I found some sugar free taffy and caramels in a candy store before I had surgery that was pretty good, but it's way too soon for me to try it now, and I'm not sure that I should. . .Someone posted that Russell Stover's Sugar Free Chocolate Crunch Bar is pretty good. . .Any thoughts? I have a web site for you to check out www.perfectlysweet.com . they have lots of wonderful sugar free things ( from candy to ketchup ) just remeber it may be sugar free but it is not fat free, and if you over eat some of the sugar free it might make you sick.

The absolute BEST chocolate is called Carbolite. Winn Dixie sells it. It's made with Splenda and is low in carb. You don't even have to get your head right to trick your mouth into thinking it's real. It's WONDERFUL! Comes in milk chocolate, chocolate crunch, peanut butter, almond, and raspberry. Good stuff!

Atkins has a line of chocolates called Indulge. They have a 3 pack of chocolate peanut butter cups that aren't bad. But the best SF chocolate of all is in Philadelphia at the Reading Terminal, for all you lucky Philadelphia folks. I was at a convention there back in September and they have a huge candy stand in there (its all food places), and a large selection of SF chocolates. Their chocolate peanut butter cups were to die for! Even better than the full sugar ones I used to love...anyone live near there that would like to ship to me!? LOL.

You are right in that Russell Stover's does have some really great chocolates. Walmart sells them. I like the Pecan Delight's! However while I don't worry about excess fats, I still hate to eat their sugar free candy as it is VERY HIGH in FAT and CALORIES! And it's also very high in price. I finally just gave up and get some regular candy. There are some kinds such as Kit Kat, and Reases Peanut butter waffers that are not extremely sweet. I'll eat alittle of it (half maybe) then put the rest away in the freezer to eat during the next sugar attack. It's cheaper and less fat and calories than those sugar free kinds.

Sugar free Creme Savers hard candies are good. I like the Chocolate & Carmel Cremes and the Strawberry Cremes. They do have carbs though, so if you are a carb watcher, you'll need to look at that. I also LOVE sugar free snowcones. Hawaiian Shaved Ice.com has lots of great flavors.

I've only found 2 sugar free candies that don't make me go "Blech" or feel like I need to throw up. One is Sqyntz and it comes in a tin like Altoids and they're fruit flavored shaped like mints. The other one is Crystal Light Lemonade flavored candies. Those things are addictive.

What are you looking for? Hot fudge pudding cake? Fudge? Pecan sticky bread? Reese's Candy? Soft peanut butter cookies? Old-fashioned oatmeal raisin cookies? I had my RNY surgery 2 years and 3 months ago and have been experimenting relentlessly! I finally put it all together in a book and it is available by checking out my profile page or go to www.freewebs.com/recipes-after-rny There's ordering information, pictures of some sinful desserts, and a couple sample recipes for you to try. Hope you enjoy! I take them to my support group meetings and they are the ones who encouraged me to put it all together in a book and I finally did.

I love the Life Saver's Butter Toffee sugar free variety. They come in a bag and look like the werther's candy . They are to die for. 5 pieces only have 45 calories.
