Help! Need to Appeal denial of Panniculectomy (Tummy Tuck)

Sorry to post here, but I did go to the Library to look for appeal letters concerning the above and found very few responses. Most were appeals for WLS. I've been denied my tummy tuck as insurance states it's for cosmetic reasons. Need help with any appeal letters some of you have used to get your TT approved. I had a hernia repair 4 weeks ago and will have to go back in for more surgery in one month as I've got a pocket of loose skin that continues to fill with fluids. Have been getting drained with a horse needle once a week for the last four weeks and now surgeon wants to go in and tighten me up. This is above my waist and could REALLY use the tummy tuck as well as this will look really wierd if it doesn't get done together. PLEASE, if you have a sample letter or website that can direct me to put something together when they resubmit my paperwork, I would be forever grateful. I'm 80lbs. down and have 20 to go. My surgeon said if TT performed I should be rid of 10lbs. of excess skin. Thanks for any help you can provide.    — Bea T. (posted on October 12, 2002)
