Question:
Feeling Sick to tummy every morning?
The past fe mornings, as soon as I wake up, I am on the toliet. I have a major bowel movement (normal coloring), and I feel sick to my tummy. I heave a few times, of course nothing comes up, b/c there isn't anything in my tummy? Why? What is this? Anyone else experience this? I am 6 weeks post-op Open RNY (8/15). I am NOT pregnant (haven't had sex since surgery) and once I eat something it subsides....HELP! — heathercross (posted on September 30, 2002)

It sounds to me like you might have low blood sugar especially since your
nausea goes away when you eat. How many hours to you eat your last protein
before you get up in the morning. You might need a small, high protein
snack before going to bed. My surgeon suggest that we eat something high
in protein (jerky, peanuts or something like that) about an hour before
bedtime.
Good luck.

I have no answer for you, but have been meaning to post the same question.
Please, SOMEONE, let us know if this is "normal"? I have to take
Phenergan or Lortab to function and if I take Phenergan, I just as well
plan to go to bed. It really wipes me out. I am sick at my stomach about
70% of the time. Doc gave me Reglan, but it doesn't seem to make a
difference. Eating does seem to relieve this feeling. It occurs two to
three hours after eating or, as you said, in the morning. It does not seem
to be related to eating. Help!
