Question:
Will insurance pay of removal of excess skin?
Does Tufts pay for removal of excess skin, if yes, can someone refer me to a pcp in Eastern MAss who will give me a referral to a plastic surgeon. — Norma S. (posted on April 19, 2002)

i will need this operation when i hit my goal weight, and my doctor told me
the insurance will pay to have the skin removed from the stomach, but they
will pay "only once", some want it taken off too soon, then lose
more weight and have another panis, but you may have to document problems
with the panis,a rash, any type of skin out break under the panis, when i
need meds for this i call the dr. and they write it down too, this helps
get approval for the plastic surgery,if you have no problems,, your
insurance may balk,, saying the excess skin isn't a problem, be careful,,
if you want your face, or other areas done, though the insurance won't pay
for optional work, talk to your plastic surgeon, they can make you a deal
if they can do it all at once, and you can pay much less for the other
work done,,good luck,,
