Question:
I need a gastric bypass friendly primary care MD

I live in Louisville KY. Insurance isn't an issue, as I have BC/BS PPO. I have already seen two doctors, both were ADAMENTLY against gastric bypass. Any ideas? Please feel free to e-mail me! ([email protected])    — deenurse (posted on July 24, 2001)

A couple of suggestions. First, work this "backwards". Determine who you would like as your surgeon. Then ask the surgeon's office to recommend as WLS friendly PCP. That is what I did when I could not get my PCP to give me a referal. Second idea. Look up patients on this site who have had the surgery that are in your area. Ask them who their PCP was and see if that PCP is with your insurance and then switch to them.
