Question:
Do any of you know of a yogurt that is low in sugar?
I keep looking, but everything has more than 6 grams of sugar, which is what my doctor requires in any food/drinks consumed. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I trying to find some new alternatives for breakfast. — ann A. (posted on August 18, 2000)

Hi Ann: if you are getting Lite yogurt, it is likely those sugar grams are
actually milk sugar (lactose) and therefore easily tolerated if you are not
lactose intolerant. Read the ingredients and if sugar or corn syrup
appears in the first 5 ingredients, don't buy it. My experience is that
most Lite yogurt is sweetened with aspartame (Nutrisweet).

Hi Ann, Yoplait makes a yogurt that is made with NutraSweet. There are
several that are sugar free. Hope this helps!

Dannon Plain has no sugar. I like to mix it with some Maple flavoring or
my favorite fresh fruit puree. ENJOY!

Hi Ann. Dannon Light is mostly sweetened with aspartame and has just a
little sugar. It might be a gram or two over your limit but you should be
ok with it. I sugar-dump easily and the dannon light never bothered me so
if I were you I'd give it a try.

I did not like yogurt in the beginning but have been eating it to get used
to it before my surgery.I have found the Blue Bunny Fat Free and Sugar Free
is not bad. It is sweetened with Splenda and doesn't leave a nasty after
taste.

I just found the sugar free, fat-free "Blue Bunny" (Wal-Mart)
brand yogurt. There is quite a selection of flavors of which I did buy but
I haven't tried it yet. I am not a big fan of yogurt and just started
eating the "sugared" kind about 6 months before my surgery. I
guess I will have to try the sugar free ones that I bought or they will go
bad. Good Luck.
