Question:
Can you have babies after lower body lift?
I'm having LBL Monday and would like to have kids in a couple of years. I was watching Dr. 90210 and Dr. Rey said not to have kids after this because it would be hard to have one. I dont care if I get extra skin later because I know it wouldn't be as much as I have now so that doesn't bother me. Is there anyone would had babies after tummy tuck and how long after one? I want kids but not in the next year or two. — [Deactivated Member] (posted on May 18, 2005)

I had abdominaplasty and was told i had o wait at least 3 yeasr to be
completly healed and get pregnant. turns out i need IVF so it took 5 years
anyway.now i have 2 girls and do need a LBL or TT again after i reach goal
as i had gained over 100lbs between both pregnancies. All the Best! Tracey

This is jut my opinion. But Im sure that Dr Rey is referring to someone
that has not lost as much weight as we have. And it is a good idea to
discuss this with your surgeon before hand. Good luck!

I saw that same episode and he said not to have the "muscles
tightened" inside because it would be to hard for them to stretch back
out, but the skin would be okay.

Dear Dorlisa,
Getting pregnant after a TT or a LBL is not really recommended. Although
it is physically possible to give birth, there is high probability of
significantly distorting the surgical results. As long as you understand
that you might need a second procedure down the road then go for it!
Sincerely,

I had a TT about 10 years ago and know people who also had it done at that
time that have since had children with no problems. I would check with the
plastic surgeon that you choose and ask him. But I know in my case they did
so much muscle repair, I had had 4 large children, that even now having
gained weight, my stomach muscle's are tight under all this fat....so it
isnt impossible and I would just let them know your plans...good luck and I
have to add that my TT was the best thing I ever did for myself......
