Question about insurance company

I'm going to be having gastric bypass surgery. I'm 150 lbs. overweight and have tried for so long to lose in other ways - weight watchers, exercise - for years!!! This is definetly what I need to do. Start my eating habits all over again. My problem is... I have Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Sheild - for my policy they no longer cover this surgery as of 1-1-05. Do any of you have suggestions? Can I appeal this? I do have sleep apnea, degenerative disk disease, and arthritis. Or any other suggestions would be appreciated. I know that there are patient financing companies out there, just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions. I did email the state of NH to see if there are any programs out there to help people like myself. These message boards are great- I'm so glad I found them for support now, and post-op.
