Question:
Anyone had abdominoplasty with weight stable but not close to goal?
I am 16 months post op, and haven't lost anything in 8 months. I still think I need to lose about 40 lbs. However, since I have added weight training to my exercise, I feel like my upper abdomen has gotten larger! It really bugs me. I also have some hanging skin on my lower abdomen. I have an appointment with a reconstructive (trying not to use "plastic") surgeon next month. Anyone out there had PS this far from goal? — koogy (posted on February 13, 2004)

I had a full abd plasty on Jan. 22nd Im 20 lbs from my personal goal. I
found that most ins. dont pay for anything but the trim of the skin so I
paid over and above what the ins. would pay to have the muscles done. it
was worth it. I still plan to lose 15 to 20 more but and will probably have
a little over hang when done but I wanted to get that stocmach out of my
lap when I sit. Im really happy with the results. I still have a little but
of love handles. but not the hanging stomach. shop around dont go with the
1st guy. this was also a real boost to my self esteem. good luck.

I went and seen the PS before I hit goal, but I ended up hitting goal by
the time my surgery came(I was close though and it took 4 months). I was
told by my WLS Surgeon and my PS Surgeon that it was fine as long as I was
stable with my weight (at least a couple months) b/c everyone loses
different and it could be that I was done losing. Good luck!
