No one knows really. It's just the shock of surgery, the anesthesia and the lack of food. You can try eating a lot of protein, that should minimize it.

according to my surgeon NONE. keep your money. He said if we are gonna lose hair we will lose hair and not much can be done about it altho some people swear by expensive hair care products. My opinion is that it is just the normal cycle ending when they think all this stuff has helped them. It has helped them alright. helped to lighten their purses. My hair is still coming out at eleven months and is quite thin and I am doing everything right. Vits, protein and all that. But it has slowed down a lot.

The magic ones! Just kidding but if you are going to lose it there is very little you can do about it. Prenatal have slowed it down for me but I have been losing my hair for 9 months now!!!! I have never had less than 80 grams ofprotein per day and have always taken my vitamins! Oh well.

Yup, there is no vitamin to stop or prevent hair loss. Sorry! It's just one of those things that you have to grin and bear, if it happens to you. You can take a prenatal or a vitamin with biotin in it and it will keep what you have healthier and assist in re-growth.

Oh well I said to myself "that's a good question." Then I saw the same answers my doctors, nutritionist and other AMOS members have said - "not much." - But hey, hair grows back, and from what I understand it grows back a lot healthier because of all that protein. I just found the hair cut I want when it happens to me.
