Nope - it won't. Nothing but nothing well help with saggy, lose skin
except a knife. Plain and simple. No exercise on earth, no oil, no cream
or lotion will help to repair broken threads of elastin in the skin. Just
can't happen. That said, flaxseed oil is GREAT for your skin - it
nourishes it and makes it softer and more supple. It helps the brain to
function better. It is good for the body in sooo many ways. It's better
if you have fresh ground flaxseed though as you will get both the benefits
of the essential fatty acids as well as the fiber for healthy bowels (it
feeds the good bacteria in your bowels). Never heard of it helping with
hair falling out, but it stands to reason that it will nourish the hair as
well. Don't know what it will do to the folicals.

Interesting article on it at the above site. I don't know much about it,
but my husband puts "ground flaxseed" on his cereal each morning
as it is suppose to really help lower cholesterol.

Since we malabsorb the oil, the ground/milled seeds are what we can use.
Many add them to protein shakes or put them on food, almost as a garnish.
They have a pleasant nutty flavor. I think they cure EVERYTHING known to
man, or so everyone claims. lol. Because they must be refrigerated, I never
remember to use them. But many absolutely swear by them, for regularity,
for good feeling skin, better hair, etc. If you're at 4 months post-op,
though, that's the hair loss that is right on schedule. Presumably you are
already doing 60g+ of protein supplement and a couple of dry form vitamin
E's per day?

I do believe I've tried every product on the market for lose skin and hair
loss - but I still lost gobs of hair- As far as loose skin- I tried cocoa
butter and tons of other stuff..and the only think I'm left with is
HORRIBLE "soft n silky" extra skin (haha) After Hundreds (if not
thousands) of dollars, the only think I found to REALLY help me- was for
stretch marks. I have deep, white, long ugly stretch marks from years and
years of losing and gaining- (not the red ones you might get from
pregnancy) There is this stuff called STRIVECTIN. You apply it sparingly 3
times a day to your marks (you must do it faithfully) Only bad thing, its
REALLY expensive (I think $130 for 6 oz) ~goes a long ways~ I was able to
buy mine off ebay for like $90- But it really was worth every penny, my
stretch marks are not GONE, but they sure have faded-so for me it was worth
it. Best wishes Kim

Been taking Flaax Seed Oil caps for quite awhile. My DH's doc recommended
it for cholesterol and said it cleans the plax out of arteries. We do 1000
mg daily. Yes, the refrigerated liquid is much better for you. Also good
source for omega 3 oils - the healthy stuff!

A friend of mine who had the WLS (open) gave me a bottle of Flax Oil to
prevent the hair loss. I was not experiencing hair loss at the time and
foolishly put the bottle aside. Now three months post op, I am losing tons
of hair. I am afraid to wash it, comb it and style as I would have
ususally. I just started using it. The doctor who suggested using this for
HER hair loss swears by it. I will have to wait and see if this is the
solution for me. I have also heard that increasing your vitamins can
prevent hair loss. Please keep me informed if you hear any more about this
and I will do the same.
