Question:
Am I eating the right amount?

I am 4 1/2 months out and have lost 75 pounds. I am very pleased about my loss but, I feel like I am a slow loser. I was wondering if I am eating too much or if my eating is alright. This is what I eat on a typical day. My doctor and nutritionist say I should have 6 meals a day. 6:30am - 1 Isopure zero carb/40 gr protein drink. 8:00am 1 cup coffe with 1tbs fat free half and half. 10:00 am 1 egg or 1 lean deli ham and cheese roll up. 12:30pm 3 oz fish or chicken breast with 1/2 cup salad OR 2 oz tuna and 1/4 cup lowfat cottage cheese. 3:00pm 2 slices lean deli ham or 2 cups fatfree popcorn. 6:00pm 3 oz meat and 1/2 cup salad or green veggies. 8:00pm lean deli meat and fatfree cheese roll up OR maybe 1/2 cup sugar free ice cream occasionaly. Does this sound ok or is it too much? I had really hoped to lose 100 lbs by January 1st, my 6 month anniversary. I want to do whatever I can to make it happen. Oh I also drink at least 64 oz of water a day and go to the gym 4 - 5 times a week. Thanks for your help.    — Stacie B. (posted on November 18, 2003)

I haven't had the WLS yet, but I have already been told by my dietician NOT to eat POPCORN (too much cabs.) and not to eat Deli meats,( too much sugar added) No Luncheon meats at all. And my Bariatric doctor agrees. If I were you I would leave those mets and the popcorn ALONE ! Good Luck, Cindy

75 pounds in 4 1/2 months is great. You are doing just fine, with your food choices. From what I've learned from the site is everyone is different with their eating habits. I eat 6 times a day as well, if I don't my blood sugar gets to low and I get cranky. If you keep up those great eating habit's and exercise you will hit the 100 pound mark in 6 months. Congratulations again! 280/158/140 Best Wishes~
