Question:
love handel question for the guys
To make this short and sweet. I was 270 pre op now 4 months post op I am at 187 I am very happy with this 85 lb loss. but like through out my whole life I still have these nasty rolls that hang over my jeans. Have any of you guys had surgery to remove these and did ins. pay for it? I do not think at 5' 11" I should lose much more weight to try to get rid of them. Any help or ideas would really be helpful. — dave B. (posted on October 2, 2003)

I have always heard that in order to be approved for TT etc, you have to
have lost at least 100 lbs and be stable. That is a great loss btw. I would
start documenting rashes and other problems to get the ins co to pay for
them. if they think it is cosmetic it will not be covered. Good Luck to
you.

I was 350 preop and 190 now at 5'9". I have been hovering at this
weight for about 3 months. I keep gaining and losing the same 2 pounds. I
am scheduled for a belt lipectomy + hernia repair on Monday. Was just gonna
get the tummy tuck, but like you, I have just enough of the old
"loppin over the belt love handles" that I decided to go for all
the way around. I have always had these, even when I was young, playing
football, and lifting weights, so it will be really coolto finally be rid of
them.
About insurance, I am double covered with BCBS and Aetna. My hernia will be
paid for and the belt lipectomy is coming out of my pocket. I think the
ONLY way insurance pays for this is if you have pictures of nasty rashes
and such. Dunno if this info helps you or not, but I will post back after
Monday and let ya know how it went.

last April I had the belt lip. my love handles are gone! I'm 511 and right
now weighed 175 lbs.. Like your insurance mine only paid partially. The
plastic surgeon which I chose would only operate on the when my weight had
stabilized for three months. Before the operation I had a tight 36 inch
waist. Now 34 in pants it me wonderfully. I am very pleased and wish to
the best of luck
