Question:
Anyone use importeddrugs.com?
After years of dealing with depression, I have finally received a prescription for medication to help. I know this is off-topic, but has anyone used importeddrugs.com for prescriptions? The cost is considerably lower than the stores in my area, but I don't know anyone who has went this route. I know there are many of us who even after major weight loss, still suffer from depression. I just cannot afford this medication on top of everything else I am still paying for WLS related! Help! Karen (lap rny- 9/20/02- down 156 pounds!) — karmiausnic (posted on September 19, 2003)

I have not used meds from out of the country, however, the medication
manufacturer has a program to help those who can't afford the pills. Each
medicine has different criteria (some have income levels). I have used
this system a few times when we didn't have Rx coverage, and it takes
legwork, patience, and being extra-nice to your doc's nurse since most of
the legwork falls to her, but it is worth it when three months of meds are
handed to you for free. ~~~~~~~~ Go to www.needymeds.com
and it will show you how to get the medicine from the company for free. On
the left, near the top, there is a link that says "How to use this
site" and choose "drug list". Then you find the medicine
your doctor recommended and it will take you to the info for that
medicine.
Between my husband and I we have been able to get free Paxil, Effexor,
blood pressure meds, and a couple others. We don't do it all the time,
only when between insurances, but you could do it continuously, in theory.
