Question:
What is an example of a good protein breakfast.
I need to increase my protein intake and was wondering if anyone could give me some good examples for breakfast. Thanks for any help you can give me. — Teresa A. (posted on July 10, 2003)

Hi teresa, If ya don't like the protein shakes cuz I know I don't, then I
suggest you try the instant carnation breakfast drinks the ones in the blue
box that say no sugar added, I heard they were pretty good, I am going to
try them myself! Or anything else like food wise that has protein in it
will work, like cottage cheese, eggs, etc. Good Luck to you!

A cheese omlette with bacon (I had this the other day and counted 18g of
protein). I also like Kashi Go Lean cereal once in a while -- with 1/2 c
skim milk, it has 12g protein and a whopping 10g fiber!

At 6:00 a.m. I either have a Carb Solution drink while I am putting on
make-up or I make an egg with lots of cheese, chopped veggies (green
pepper, onion, mushrooms) and add a little salsa with it. YUMMMM I do
find that I don't get hungry as quickly when I have the egg dish, but with
the Carb Solution I'm "starving to death" between 8-9 a.m.

Hello: I am with a couple of the other folks here, breakfast isn't my
favorite meal of the day, but we get pretty sick to our new tummy's if we
don't put something in it....Some days I have a traditional 1 egg, 2 pieces
bacon and 1/2 piece of toast.....other days, I don't want anything that
resembles breakfast food, so I have left overs from dinner or my favorite
1/2 quesadilla or grilled cheese sandwich.....Most of the time I don't
want traditional "breakfast" foods.....

hiya! after surgery i stopped eating "breakfast" as in
traditional breakfast foods (cereal, waffles, pancakes) cuz i just CANNOT
start my day on a carb high...
sooo
i always start the day with a protein drink (i use "natural"
flavor whey protein mixed with decaf coffee & soy milk & sugar free
vanilla syrup..yummm)
then my "breakfast" is either low fat cottage cheese or light n
fit yogurt -- both come in 4oz sizes which is perfect. i usually add a
spoonful of ground flaxseed for the omega-3's and fiber.
if i'm out somewhere i'll get just a scrambled egg and eat 1/2 piece of
toast.
good luck!

I have trouble with too much flavor assualting me in the mornings, so I
usually have 4 moz cheese sticks (I find Cheese Head brand to be less
in-your-face with flavor) to start my day (28 grams of protein).

I would skip breakfast if I could.. I hate eating it.. unless I'm going out
and someone else is cooking it for me.. can't do that too often.. with work
and all.. so like others, I start my day with a protein drink. I do,
however, right before heading to the gym get down about 3 to 4 oz of lit n'
fit yogurt.. just so I have some energy at the gym... go for the protein
drink -- I've found it really helps to set the right tone for my day. Good
luck!

Before I was back to my coffee habit (who needs protein when you can have
caffeine?), I would have 4 oz. of skim milk in the morning while getting
ready to soft-boil an egg. My early morning liquids would be some sort of
clear protein drink. Then, I would have an early morning snack of a
protein bar-- that way, I would get in about 34 grams of protein by lunch.

I like a fried egg (or scrambled) with alittle ham or turkey ham. Perhaps a
slice of cheese.
