I take a liquid iron called Floradix Iron + Herbs. You can find it at most
health food stores. It has B vitamins, vit. C (to help absorption), and
herbs along with the iron.

I take an over the counter iron pill... I just asked the pharmacist which
he would recommend. Its small so I don't have any problems swallowing it.
So far its been doing wonders - even pre-op I tended to be anemic. Now
with the iron supplement per docs instructions (2 daily) I seem to be doing
better and my labs are great. I'll have to find the name when I get
home.... oh, and its much cheaper than the other iron supps I was looking
at.

I take YourLife brand, at Eckerd drugs is the only place I can find it. It
is ferrous fumarate, 27mg. It is well tolerated, does not constipate, and
my labs were good.
