Question:
Have you tried the new Balance Bars?
They have new balance bars out that have 15grams of protein and about 23 grams of carbs. But they are awesome. Maybe the carb content is too high for some of you, but honestly it is more satisfying and has less carbs than if I ate a candy bar or chips/crackers. In fact I am hard-pressed to eat a whole bar in one sitting. At least I get some protein in with it. Anyhow, they come in several flavors. I think they have about 11 grams of sugar. — Kay S. I love the Balance Gold bars and they are my primary source of carbs when I
do eat one. They are very yummy!
I did show them to the nutritionist and she was okay with them because they
are satisfying to me and are overall not a bad choice. And again they are
delicious.

I like Balance Bars, Detour bars and "Sport cookies" from
WLSsuccess.com...I keep these on hand when I just need a treat. I buy them
by the box and freeze them. Saves money.

Kay, I recently found the Balance Gold bars as well. I absolutely love
them- they are the closest thing you can get to a candy bar and come in
several different flavors. They're not too expensive either, at Vitamin
Shoppe, you can get a pack of 15 for about $18.00- not too bad. I'm a year
post-op and do eat more carbs than I did early on, so I don't mind the carb
content in these. :-)

I love the Balance Gold bars too. My favs are the rocky road and the
caramel. Have you tried the Detour bars?? They are great too. I just
found a smaller size Detour bar this weekend at Trader Joes-1/2 the size of
the original, so 1/2 the calories, 1/2 the carbs/sugars and still 15 grams
of protein!! More protein than the Balance Gold with less
calories/fat/carb/sugar and just as good.
