Question:
On fitday.com I repeatedly come up short on vitamins/minerals:
Vitamin K, Folate, and selenium. Any good suggestions on what to add to my diet to increase the intake of these? I had open RNY 8/6/02 and I have lost 104 lbs. so far. Need to lose about 30-35 more. — Dana B. (posted on February 7, 2003)

I am from Canada, and when I noticed I wasn't getting enough vitamin K, and
saw a thread on here about some symptoms of shaky vision etc from lack of
it, I went looking for it. Apparently here in Canada, they don't sell it,
and if it happens to be in a product, they can't even put it on the label.
I have a friend from the states, where you can buy it readily (or so the
health food lady told me) and I'm getting her to look into getting me some
when she comes here. What is wrong with Vitamin K that the Canadian FDA
hasn't allowed it to be sold? So I guess I also would like to know if I
can't get these vits from the states, what can I eat (thats small) so I can
get enough Vitamin K. Thanks Everyone for all the great emails of late,
very encouraging!

Hi! I was finding that on fitday.com, my Vitamin K was always deficient
too. You can find that by clicking on Reports and that daily nutrition. I
looked it up on Yahoo and Vitamin K comes from the green vegetables that we
don't eat because we are always eating protein. Broccoli, lettuce,
asparagus are all high in Vitamin K. Peas, cucumbers, and squash has some
Vitamin K in them as well. I'm going to try and add some broccoli and
salads to my diet to get this in or try to find a way to buy it over the
counter to supplement. Hope this helps! Melisa RNY 08/15/02 -77lbs
