Question:
Am I eating too much?
I am alittle over eight months post op and I have lost 111 lbs. I feel like I am eating too much sometimes. Like for lunch today I ate a Whopper Jr with cheese but I took off the back half of the bread. Is that too much to eat? I am not perfect when it comes to dieting and eating but I am trying to do the best I can without over doing it. I never want to gain weight again but my doctor says I need to eat more and that I was under-eating. I now weight 130 lbs but I want to stay there too. Anybody else have these feelings? Is it all in my head or am I eating too much? Thanks for any suggestions or help! — Crystal D. (posted on December 17, 2002)

That doesn't seem like too much to me. In fact, it seems like just a
little! Congrats on your success!

HI Crystal, I too, have worries about eating too much. I'm a little over
18 months post-op and down a total of 137-142 lbs. depending on when I
weigh. I'm running about 110-115 and everyone tells me not to lose anymore
even my doctor. I'm not really trying to lose anymore, just not gain.
That's my biggest fear. Anytime the scales slip above 115 I get depressed
and when I get on them and they say 110, I feel wonderful even though I
know I'm really skinny now. Sounds to weird for me to say that. I have
trouble finding clothes to fit...I need a size 4 and the only places I can
find them is in specialty shops or in the expensive brands in the big dept.
stores. Needless to say, the prices are all higher than if I could shop
just anywhere. My doctor told me to eat at least 6 times a day and be
careful to eat lots of protein and drink the water. I do this but, I still
worry about gaining. I don't want to ever lose my will power. Having said
all this, what I really wanted to do, was assure you that you aren't alone.
The first time I allowed myself to finish a Lean Cuisine, I felt guilty
for days...
